On September 26, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan, the Japan-China Friendship Association and the Soka Gakkai, among other organizations, launched an exhibition on Chinese premier Zhou Enlai (1898–1976) and Sino-Japanese friendship to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. The launch took place simultaneously at the China Cultural Center in Tokyo and the Imperial City Art Museum of Beijing in China, where the exhibition is also being shown. The two venues were connected online. Former prime minister of Japan Yasuo Fukuda delivered a speech urging those present to reflect on the long history of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and encouraged them to cherish the relationship. He also commended the Soka Gakkai’s long-standing efforts to foster friendship between the two countries. President Daisaku Ikeda sent a congratulatory message. The exhibition will be on display at the two venues until September 30.
