The Junior High and High School Division (JHHS) encompasses youth from junior or middle school through high school graduation. The JHHS facilitates activities for middle or junior high school and high school age youth. There is an annual nationwide conference as a way for these young members to deepen their faith and their friendships with one another.
The Elementary School Division was formed in late 1993. The group was formed in response to parents of elementary school children in the SGI-USA who wanted a place where their children could gather with other children who are SGI-USA members. There is an annual nationwide conference at the Florida Nature and Culture Center for ESD members and their parents to teach the basics of Buddhism to the ESD while letting them make friendships with other members their age.
In 2015 SGI-USA launched a "Parent Group" (PG) within the Future Division. The PG meets quarterly, affording opportunities for parents to study Sensei's guidance, network, and make fresh determinations to advance in faith. The future of kosen-rufu hinges on passing the baton of the oneness of mentor and disciple to successive generations of leaders and parents are the key to this dynamic development. Nothing is more difficult and crucial than parenting, however, and the PG will provide a constant flow of encouragement to help parents overcome the many challenges they face in raising their children and as their children advance through three age groupings: 0-5, ESD, and JHHS.
