The Young Women's Division was founded on July 19, 1951 by second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda. This group includes young women from ages 12-35 in the SGI, who support one another in their Buddhist practice. The YWD Vow represents our commitment to our mentor and to ourselves to become the happiest women in the world.
The young men's division was founded on July 11, 1951 by second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda. This group includes young men from ages 12-35.
The student division was founded on June 30, 1957 by second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda. Members of this group consist of young men and women from the ages of 17-35 attending school at the college or university level. The goal of this group is for each student to develop a solid foundation in faith toward winning in their studies and achieving their dreams.
The Future Division encompasses youth from kindergarten through high school graduation; both the Elementary School Division (ESD) and Junior High and High School Division (JHHS) together. The Future Division facilitates activities for youth members in these respective age groups.

Bestowed the name Ikeda Youth Ensemble on September 22nd, 2010 by third Soka Gakkai President Daisaku Ikeda, the Ikeda Youth Ensemble is the SGI-USA's national youth performing arts organization. Currently comprising of brass brands, fife and drum corps, taiko, dance, chorus, spoken word, Korean drums, and many other groups, the Ikeda Youth Ensemble endeavors to provide youth a platform to develop their faith, potential and artistic abilities through the performing arts.
