Since 1991 the SGI has gone through dramatic changes as it has become an engaged lay Buddhist community in society. In response to increasing interest and demand for classroom teaching material, this Resource Guide was designed to present a current look at the changes and events shaping the development of the SGI in the United States. Over the last two years, the Resource Guide has proven a useful classroom tool in introductory courses on Buddhism, Asian Religions, World Religions, Japanese Religions, and Contemporary Religious Movements in America.
