To My Friends

Young men and women who
are challenging yourselves
to gain employment, do your best!
With earnest prayer as the foundation,
be sincere and true to yourselves as
you play out a victorious drama that
gives full play to your unique diversity,
evidenced by the Buddhist principle of
“cherry, plum, peach and damson blossoms.”(*)

(*)Buddhism teaches principle of “cherry, plum, peach and damson blossoms,” which elucidates the unique diversity and beauty of all living entities. (cf OTT p. 200)

Tentative translation of “To My Friends” published in the Seikyo Shimbun, based on President Ikeda’s recent guidance.
